Public Art Party: Beverly Hills

Use this guide to take a walking tour of the city and learn more about Yayoi Kusama and public art in Beverly Hills. Visit www.beverlyhills.org for a full list of public art works.

1. Picnic lunch from Porta Via
Pick up a box lunch at the neighborhood favorite to enjoy a picnic on the rooftop garden at The Paley Center for Media or around the public sculpture. Boxes include a panini, salad and a cookie. Call on your way to order, 310.274.6534. 424 North Canon Drive.

2. Videos by Yayoi Kusama at The Paley Center for Media
Watch short films by Kusama in the Bell Family Gallery: Flower Orgy (1968), Flower Obsession Gerbera (1999) and Flower Obsession Sunflower (2000). As a special treat the rooftop gardens will be open all day, eat lunch or just enjoy the view. Admission is free. 465 North Beverly Drive.

We've been going to San Francisco every year for several years to attend the Game Developers Conference. Post GDC, we've hosted parties and dim sum brunches. This year, we decided to host a pizza picnic in the park. And boy what a beautiful day! Almost all of the nerd herd came out to say hello (that's Philip, Heidi, and Wayne above). Thanks to all for making it out and hanging with the crew, I hope you had as much fun in the sun as we did!

Bar Tartine: Marin Sun Farms Marrow

The Marin Sun Farms marrow, grilled bread, arugula, persillade dinner appetizer was cooked and presented perfectly. It was however, not seasoned perfectly. The key missing ingredient was a form of rock salt. Still... not a bad appetizer for $13.00.
