Hey Folks, all us YYYs have been avid collectors of t-shirts over the years, what can we say, WE LIKEY A GOOD T-SHIRT. In our travels many of you have chucked a homemade YYY tee on the stage or what not and all the shirts have always been unique and poured over with loooooove. So it got us thinking: how about giving you the fans a crack at coming up with a fresh new blitzin' YYY T-shirt design! It's a natural fact that YYYs have amongst YOU a whole heap of ART STARS! So school's out for the summer and we want you to spend a hot lazy afternoon throwing something together for us YYYs to REPRESENT! And I got a hunch you're gonna bring it! Sprüth Magers Berlin is delighted to host Andrea Zittel’s artistic enterprise, ‘Smockshop’, in their gallery space in Berlin this spring. This is the first time the Smockshop (www.smockshop.org) has set up its stall outside North America, and it is also scheduled to be the last time it opens for business at all, making this a unique opportunity to experience Zittel’s artistic and economic experiment. Two artisans will work in the gallery for the first four days of the exhibition making the smocks that are available for purchase right after their production. The works will then be on view in the gallery throughout the whole exhibition period.

Sinden took this photo of me because she thought my outfit was ridiculous. I'm too frugal to buy maternity clothes. So I wear what I can still squeeze into. In this case, vintage X-Girl tee, American Apparel undershirt, Four Star skate shorts (hijacked from Silvio -- cause they were gifted to him and he never wears), WESC socks, and cinnamon slippers from Viet Nam. It should be noted that the only thing I've paid for in this outfit is the American Apparel tee. If you run a clothing company and you want to send me some wares, I'll wear them and document on Flickr!

I actually don't have a lot of photos of me with Spawn. So, enjoy!

Ray Eames: Notes for a Celebration Recap

The Eames Office is hosting an exhibition "Notes for a Celebration" to celebrate the art and design of Ray Eames. She was an American designer, married to Charles Eames, who worked in furniture, graphic, and industrial design, film and architecture. What I enjoyed so much from the show were the paper doll cut outs Ray made as a child. Well, those and the incredibly beautiful hand-written notes.

Nathan W. McKee... big winner!

The elfishly charming clothing designer Leanne Marshall's musician boyfriend, Nathan W. McKee was the real winner from tonight's Project Runway finale! His song, "Cookie Breath" was so catchy I had to rewatch Leanne's fashion show just to listen to it again. The delightful song used during Leanne's Bryant Park debut is currently available for streaming on Nathan's MySpace page. "Cookie Breath" is a dreamy indie pop tune and was the perfect companion for Leanne's dreamy wave-inspired clothing collection. Having only been played 1324 times at the time of this post, I can only imagine there are others out there wondering who made that sweet music?!

Congrats to Leanne for winning Project Runway and congrats to the cool creative couple for your winning runway collaboration! Nathan, I've got 99 cents for your song, let me know where I can download it, thanks!

My friend Carlos recently pointed me to his friend Aida's sweet little Mexican clothing company. I was surprised to find so many items I wanted even though stylistically, traditional Mexican embroidered dresses are not my steedz. Aida's creations are charming and come in a variety of whimsical colors. The company slogan "A Heart in Every Piece" is very fitting for a company that seems to want to champion Mexican culture, tradition and the handmade craftsmanship of each specific garment. I heart the creations of Aida Coronado and she puts a lot of heart into all her garments. Love Aida!
