Artist Statement
Liz’s work concentrates on blurring the line between indoors and outdoors, hardscape and softscape. Inspired by the topography and greenery of the natural world, her felt based wall hangings and textile art transforms our wild landscape into interior décor and familiar textures into unusual patterns. Liz’s artwork toys with our urban landscape and considers ways of bringing public space into our homes.
Liz is trained as an architect and her professional experience includes architecture, interior and landscape, graphic and theatrical set design. Liz currently teaches design studios at Parsons and is the founder of Burlix Studio, an art+design practice located at the Invisible Dog Art Center in Boreum Hill, Brooklyn.
