Introduction
For this 37th exhibition at ALICE gallery, and for the very first time, Danish artist HuskMitNavn and American artist Lydia Fong will be presenting their latest work together. These two artists have built their reputation in the street, before being recognized by the art world. An East meets West get-together that’s been long awaited by many artists around the world.
If HuskMitNavn shines by his talent, the American behind Lydia Fong is a true living legend, however pretentious this might seem to the non initiated.
HuskMitNavn has marked his name both in Denmark and internationally by his controversial, humorous and political street art. His characteristic figures and comments are spread all over Europe and covers a wide area from graffiti in public space, illustrations for international magazines and newspapers into established settings as galleries and building adornnments.
By humorous reflections upon everyday life and politics, the art from HuskMitNavn involves society discourses. In a very personal style he comments on absurdities by stolid comments that give 'food for thought'. Subjects like nationality or integration gets a completely new meaning.

Lydia Fong
Born in 1966, Lydia Fong lives and works in San Francisco.
The quality of Lydia Fong’s work could be measured by the popularity he earns from independent artistic areas. Artists, curators, renowned art collectors or casual art lovers, all have an interest in the works of Lydia Fong.
And yet his work is difficult to classify in a particular register such as painting, installation, video, photography, graffiti or the figurative and the abstract.
Born and raised in the punk/rock culture of DIY, he changes medium with ease, cheerfully transgresses the boundaries between artistic fields. He is also as unpredictable and independent in the art market. He calls himself a "free agent", and manages his career between leading exhibitions in prestigious institutions of contemporary art, non-profit galleries or galleries run by artists.
Among the features of his work, we should remember those less formal who deal with society’s misfits and graffiti artists. He is also a leading figure of the New York independent scene of the nineties celebrated by the exhibition "Beautiful Losers" with artists including Steve Powers, Chris Johanson, Mike Mills, Cheryl Dunn, Mark Gonzalez, Margaret Kilgallen, Harmony Korine, Ed Tempelton or Spike Jonze.
