My friend Mike over at Sketchy Pad dropped me a line about Infections.com a couple of weeks ago. He wanted to share his excitement for a new car art line that was launching soon. I was skeptical. But then Buff let me know he was working with the same company. After seeing other artists I know sign up, I felt I had to give the Blik for cars a more in depth look.
Infectious' team is made up of a community of lifestylists. Some are veterans of design, the party scene, and the arts community. They all seem to have a real affection for making things more fun. They are a self-proclaimed "community of artists and art-worshippers who create art for cars."
Artists working with Infectious include Buff Monster, Dalek, Junko Mizuno, Jon Burgerman, MAD, Cycle, Blaine Fontana, Nico Berry, Zeptonn, Si Scott, Emil Kozak and Erik Otto. New artists will launch on a regular basis and the company even takes submissions from artists off the street.
So how does it work? The car art is made from adhesive vinyl, is easy to apply, lasts a long time, and can be removed without a lot of hassle. Products start at $34.99 so pimping your ride is pretty affordable. The who, what, where, and when can be found on their blog. Excited? I'd say it's infectious, indeed!
