Bún bò Huế (spicy beef and pork noodle soup from Hue) is hands down my favorite Vietnamese Asian noodle soup. It's aromatic, spicy, rich in flavor, and filling. Unfortunately, it can't be found within a twenty mile radius of where I live, so in order for me to eat it, I must travel southeast to Little Saigon for a proper bowl. I sampled this noodle soup at Quan Hy Restaurant in Westminster and it was absolutely delicious -- it tasted like my mom's!
Surprisingly my non-Asian friends really loved it too. I thought the broth would be too murky, the pork knuckles too foreign, or that the lemongrass combo would be too spicy, but I was happily proven wrong. I think I may have even found some new fans of this tasty Vietnamese comfort food! I'm so looking forward to our next Little Saigon food tour. Yummy!
you rock. i'm gonna take my mom....
