Radiohead and MTV EXIT have produced a music video for "All I Need," from "In Rainbows" to premiere on MTV globally, May 1, 2008.

From the MTV EXIT website: MTV EXIT is a campaign about freedom -- about our rights as human beings to choose where we live, where we work, who our friends are, and who we love. Most of us take these freedoms for granted, but hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world have had these basic human rights taken away. They are victims of trafficking – modern-day slaves -- and criminals have forced, defrauded, or coerced them into various forms of labor, or prostitution.

Musical interludes between each by Vert (Adam Butler) will encourage the audience to move beyond their usual role as complacent listeners.

On Saturday May 3rd Raid Projects will be hosting its very last exhibition.

What? Raid Projects is Closing??
Yes, and in keeping true to our ideals and having a sense of fun we are inviting ALL artists to participate in Raid Projects closing show, Swap Meet.

How it works:
Bring along a small art work on that evening to hang then and there. After this we ask that you find another artist's work that is hanging and speak with the artist about swapping it with them if they are so inclined. This can be done numerous times throughout the evening until we close at 10pm. The idea is we all get to meet artists new and old, many whom have had a show at Raid Projects in the past, and enjoy the night. Hopefully we will all make some new friends, as many of us have in the past via the Raid Project openings, and reminisce fondly about Raid Projects and its tenure in the Los Angeles art scene.

project:gallery is proud to announce, the upside of down, a solo exhibition from Japanese artist Yoskay Yamamoto. This will be the artist's first solo exhibition, and will mark his largest body of work to date. The show represents a breakthrough in work from Yamamoto, and will reflect his most intimate statement of self-expression yet.

The concept for the upside of down is inspired by Yoskay Yamamoto's own need to express his emotions, personality and frequent feeling of self-doubt. Yamamoto feels as if he is always in a battle with himself or his alter-ego known as "Inskay." The Japanese word "Yo-" translates to "light" while "In-" refers to "dark," which is where we find YO-skay and his internal struggle with IN-skay. As an artist and as a person, Yamamoto feels this constant struggle of light and dark within himself.

Two consummate authors of music, language, and culture join forces! Jonathan Lethem (author of Motherless Brooklyn and The Fortress of Solitude) reads from his novel You Don't Love Me Yet, now out in paperback, which sends up the L.A. alternative band scene with a story of overnight fame based on (sort of) stolen lyrics. Conceptual artist, writer and musician Paul D. Miller, aka DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid, presents his book Sound Unbound, a meditation by various artists (including Lethem) on the remix: how music, art, and literature have blurred the lines between what an artist can do and what a composer can create. Join us for an evening of great art and entertainment as well as serious discussion about cross-pollination between artists and genres.

If there was an event that could lead to the recent body of work by the young painter, Willie Smith, it could be like the excavation of ones blue jean pockets after days of wear. I imagine a torn magazine article, part classified ad, part comic, part headline; fonts of receipts, a lucky penny with worn edges from the pavement, maybe a brightly colored plastic wrapper mingling with a rubber band and a knotted piece of thread.
