Seeking modern in the South Bay.
Though the South Bay isn't in the record books as a Mecca for modern architecture, seeking it out and finding it here can be as satisfying as a treasure hunt with some pretty rewarding loot at the end. Bryan Winters, a self described lover of modern, will join us in the Studio for a discussion on what makes a building modern, the many wonders of modern and how we, as residents, can help to introduce more of it into the area's architecture. Winters' goal, which is shared by DWR, is to help train your eye to better spot modern elements and gain an appreciation for its simplification of form and purposeful lack of ornamentation. Please join us for this informative, eye-opening discussion. Your questions and insights will be welcomed. Wine and appetizers will be served.
