Celebrate at Fantagraphics Bookstore this Sat., Dec. 8!
Following a phenomenally successful first year, it's party time at Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery in Georgetown. On Saturday, December 8 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the store commemorates its first anniversary with music, artist appearances, a continuing display of Peanuts strips by Charles M. Schulz, and a one-day storewide sale. The festivities coincide with the colorful Georgetown Annual Holiday Artwalk.
Illustrious Fantagraphics cartoonists Jim Woodring, Ellen Forney and Jim Blanchard will preside over the party, which also marks the debut performance of The Tom Price Desert Classic. This group features prominent local musicians with past and present associations with the publisher, including front man Tom Price of the legendary U-Men.
The public of all ages is invited to mingle with local cartoonists and view the current exhibition of "Unseen Peanuts" by Charles M. Schulz. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy exceptional music while getting a jump on holiday shopping with a daylong 20% discount on Fantagraphics diverse line of delightful, locally-produced books.
