Join Aris Kalaizis for a Glimpse into His Hyper-realistic Universe
Staring at one of Aris Kalaizis’ paintings is like suddenly stepping into the most pivotal scene of a film, the tension palpable and the questions swarming. With the line between artistic mediums increasingly blurred, Kalaizis’ work explores the idea of artist as director – an omniscient force controlling every detail of his work. From location scouting and costume design to the exact shade of sky, his paintings are meticulously constructed, with each element a project in its own right.
A conversation between artist Aris Kalaizis and art critic/author Carol Strickland, with introductory remarks by Sara Reisman, independent curator and ISCP/International Studio and Curatorial Program Director.
This event is free and open to the public and a short reception will follow.
