Saturday, June 30, 1:30pm
Chicago Cultural Center, Cassidy Theater
78 E. Washington Street
This is the first event of a four-part series focusing on music and visuals influenced by video games. Come experience three live video games influenced performances by the Chicago based duo, Super 8-Bit Brothers, who create songs to listen to while rocking out, driving in your car, or playing your video games. They will be playing songs off their full-length CD, Melee. Also hear special guest ‘chip-tune’ innovators Nullsleep and Bitshifter from NYC, who use Game Boys and NES consoles to create conceptually unique music that blends subversive hardware hacking with powerful melodic pop and electronic music. The two recently circumnavigated the planet in a 20-date world tour. Watch full-screen images or references to game culture shown by guest video jockeys MFChicago. Sponsored by the Chicago Office of Tourism and presented as part of Art of Play: Summer in Chicago 2007.
The ohm multimedia series incorporates new media in electronic music, performance and visual art. The program invites professionals from the music and art scene to provide audio and visual art performances including live musician performances, DJs and visuals arts including video mixing, film and live painting
