Monument to Smile
May 31-June 9
This June, European artist Agnes Winter exhibits Monument to Smile, a massive, 50-story projection of over 250 photographs of smiling New Yorkers that brings public art to the walls of Rockefeller Center. Monument to Smile, the artist's first public work in the United States, is set to transform the façade of 30 Rockefeller Plaza into a cascading mosaic of smiling portraits. These portraits are transmitted by 12 large projectors positioned atop Saks Fifth Avenue and projected onto the edifice of the iconic building. Monument to Smile can be viewed every evening from May 31st through June 9th. This exhibit is presented by the renowned luxury goods company Cartier and hosted by Tishman Speyer, the co-owners of Rockefeller Center.
