Artist Edgar Martins' work was most recently featured on the cover of Aperture magazine's fall issue. Portuguese by birth, Martins grew up in Macau, China, and in 1996 he moved to the UK, where he later completed an MA in photography and fine art at the Royal College of Art. He has exhibited extensively throughout Asia and Europe and has received numerous awards for his photographic and literary work. His latest book, Black Holes and Other Inconsistencies, was awarded the Thames & Hudson and RCA Society book prize. The Diminishing Present, Martins' second book, was published in 2006. An exhibition of this work toured Lisbon, Oporto, Madrid, and New York; in spring 2008 Aperture will also publish images from this body of work. Edgar Martins lives and works in the UK.
