Père-Lachaise Cemetery is one of my favorite places to visit in Paris, yet in the past 16 years of visiting the City of Lights, I've only made the tomb trek twice, once in 1992 and now in 2006. Not much has changed in 14 years. The grounds are still magnificent, the trees are dense and aged, the fanatics with endless knowledge of who's where, are creepy as ever. It's the kind of place over shadowed by Jim Morrison's presence, yet, enhanced by it as well. Please do yourself a favor and drop in the next time you're in town. It's free. If not to see the beautiful tombs, go for a walk and remember how grand life is!
