BLK/MRKT Gallery presents a two-person show featuring stunning new work by San Fransisco's Casey O'Connell and Seattle's Robert Hardgrave (aka FarmerBob). In addition to non-collaborative paintings, they are creating a site-specific mural installation not to be missed.
Both O'Connell and Hardgrave's processes are in a sense completely opposite, yet they share a fascination with symbolism and ritual; each of them deliberately encodes their private experiences into their painting. Following different paths and speaking in different tongues, they have each found a way to express and transcend private terrors through the creation of art whose dark, edgy beauty represents a reconciliation with the past and faith in the future. And that is certainly lucky for us...
