KAMI AND SASU
Upper Playground in association with FIFTY24SF Gallery is pleased to present installations and illustrations by Japanese husband and wife artists , Kami and Sasu. The Tokyo-based artists have shown their work worldwide, from Milan, Italy to Manchester, UK to Mito, Japan. As members of “The Barnstormers”, they have left their mark through out the South East of the United States painting barns, trucks and farm equipment.
Known for their large murals and installations that draw upon their personal inspirations, Kami and Sasu collaborate to build stunning iconographies. Drawing from traditional Japanese Calligraphy and sprawling patterns, they create new sensual forms in bold colors that represent their signature style. As a duo, their work is recognized by Kami’s strong line work and Sasu’s distinctive patterns.
