Beijing is exploding with 2008 Olympics construction. At every meeting I attended, I made sure to check out the view. And boy was it awesome. Next to all the fake box-like buildings were hundreds of cranes. It made me think about the city's vibe and the people that inhabit it. I wondered, who works in these buildings? What are their lives like? What's up with the next gen? I didn't find any answers but it didn't matter. Surprisingly, I liked what I saw...minus the crazy pollution of course! Progress is being made in a big way. Now would be a good time to hum the Star Wars death march tune.
