I've been selling my whole life. I cashed my first paycheck at 13 (with taxes taken out!) and never looked back. Out of necessity, the Hong clan worked the Arlington County Fair every summer for over a decade. Mom made the best food, Dad was the master planner, and we kids sold platter after platter -- my little brother, Lobo, who is not pictured, made the lemonade. The image above was captured by a Washington Post photographer in 1982. Kiki was 12, Kaly was 11, I just turned 10 (with the "head band"), and Hani was 8. It's photos like this that define my childhood and who I am today. Love it!
