so when i used to live in socal before, i listened to tons of kcrw. several times annually, for a couple of weeks, they would beg all day and night for listeners to contribute to their subscription drive. my family, all supporters, coined the weeks of fundraising as "the begathon". in my last year in santa monica, i listened to kcrw 365 days a year and so i became an "angel", someone who contributed a dollar a day, $365. kcrw claimed that for less than what a cup of coffee costs a day, i could help support them. and i bought that logic.
i'm starting my own begathon. i don't have advertisers. i don't ask for donations. i don't get paid to write this blog. i do it because i love sharing information. no, please don't buy me something from my amazon.com wish list, but please, if you do find yourself holiday shopping online this season and buy something from amazon.com, use my associates link so that i may get a small percentage of your purchase. it's not a lot. but it adds up. enough (i hope) so that i can buy myself something with the credit like a nintendo ds. if you enjoy reading hustler of culture you can support me this way. it doesn't cost you a penny. but it will throw a few into my account. also, you can access my associates link all year round in the upper right hand corner under my "me too" list. i won't beg for credit for another season. thanks amigos.
and oh yeah, kcrw's winter begathon is currently in full force. please support them until i can afford a cup of coffee daily. cheers.
