like many of you, i stayed up till 4 a.m. last night glued to the television. sleep finally overcame me and i went to bed feeling troubled. this morning, i felt depressed. i wish things had turned out differently.
i'm american and am married to a european. when i land in california in a month, i will be applying for my french citizenship and EU passport. why? because i can. and because i should've awhile ago. no drama. i'm not running anywhere. not yet. but i want to be able to move around the world without a blue passport if needed.
earlier today, i got pinged with, it's time for barcelona IMs. some of my hysterical friends are packing for anywhere but here. my canadian friends are happy to be north american and not just american (even if they keep losing their best comedians to us). the logistics for expatriating are available if you're serious about leaving. now, to respond to emailed inquisitions and reactions from abroad.
