yesterday was balls out double and triple booking!
it was a great day. fun and different. invited to speak on the video game panel at wharton’s mba media and entertainment conference i started the morning by staying home to prep. it was my first public speaking engagement in this capacity so i was pretty excited. introducing myself was the hardest part. but after the short intro, everything else was chill. only having one hour to discuss the future of gaming we quickly zipped through piracy, game addiction, various business models, and massive multiplayer online games. i represented the small independent developer seated between industry goliaths, ea and atari. i made some new friends and booked a few studio appointments for the future. the wharton peeps were super nice and i finally got a chance to check out nyu's brand spanking new kimmel center. as soon as it was over i found myself trekking to my next adventure.
our early evening was spent at the tribeca grand for the international premiere of director, itsumichi isomura’s love story, milk white (gege). the film is a story about a young man who loses his vision but finds love after some crazy drama. it had the theatre sobbing well into the end credits. it's a must see for people who love love.
finishing off the night we ran to xbox and ubi soft’s XIII video game party. we were treated to a private performance by psycho killers, the wu tang clan. funk master flex got the parted started while ghostface killa tore it up. the crowd went ape wild as the night progressed. i’ve never been weapons-checked for a games party before. but if this is the kind of party you get to attend for going through the business, dudes, check me anytime! people throwing e3 parties, pay attention!
