no sleep, no food and a whole lotta fun!

my neighbor, sam (who also happens to be a best friend of one of my sisters) is a freelance producer. every once in awhile a bang-up opportunity presents itself and i find myself enjoying some made in manhattan event. most recently, i got to attend a taping for a japanese rice company cook-off. i was lucky enough to drag along three friends. you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find three able bodies willing to wake up at 8:30 am on a sunday. anyhow, alaina wrote about it beautifully here: NYC Eats: Japanese Rice Cooking Contest
